On the Wings of Angels Ultra Runner Fundraiser: Rish Mitra

June 7

Rish Mitra is a father, engineer, entrepreneur, ultra-runner, change agent, and author of Break Up with Yourself: How to Unmask and Unbecome the Man You Were Told to Be and End the Cycle of Masculine Toxicity. At 44, Rish is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, addiction, and suicide. Rish now dedicates his life to breaking the cycle of harm created by “Man Up” culture.

His mission is to challenge outdated societal norms and help boys and men unlearn toxic messaging, while teaching emotional regulation through breathwork, movement, and a lifestyle rooted in community, faith, and healing. He’s committed to helping men embrace vulnerability and become stronger, healthier role models for the next generation.

Rish runs ultra-distances as a form of solidarity with trauma survivors, embracing pain with purpose. When asked why he runs, his answer is always: “I run for the ones who cannot. Every mile is a step in gratitude for my own life and a way to walk, literally and spiritually, in the shoes of those affected by abuse, addiction, suicide, or illness. If even one person feels seen and supported through my effort, then my purpose is fulfilled.”

On June 7th, 2025, Rish will run the Huron 100, a grueling 100-mile footrace through the Huron Watershed Trail, with 8,000 feet of elevation gain and a 32-hour time limit. And this time, he’s running for something even greater.

He is dedicating every step of this journey to raising funds for On the Wings of Angels, a nonprofit that provides direct, tangible support for domestic violence survivors with no red tape or delays.

You can be part of his mission by sponsoring a mile, or several, of his race. For example, you can sponsor mile 21, or mile 21–25. 100% of all funds raised will go directly to On the Wings of Angels.

Let’s come together to help Rish transform pain into purpose, and run for those still finding their voice!
